Biomch-L subscription help

[back to Biomch-L home page]

Biomch-L subscriptions are managed by a software package called LISTSERV. There are two methods to interact with LISTSERV: e-mail and web-based.

Managing your Biomch-L subscription by E-mail

If you wish to cancel your subscription, send an e-mail to LISTSERV@nic.surfnet.nl with the text:

UNSUBSCRIBE BIOMCH-L

Other useful LISTSERV commands are:

SET BIOMCH-L DIGEST to receive a daily digest instead of separate postings
SET BIOMCH-L NODIGEST to receive separate postings again
SET BIOMCH-L INDEX to receive daily table of contents only
SET BIOMCH-L NOINDEX to receive postings again
SET BIOMCH-L NOMAIL to stop receiving postings, but remain subscribed
SET BIOMCH-L MAIL to receive postings again

A common problem is that LISTSERV does not recognize you as a subscriber.  This means that your e-mail address has changed.  Please ask a moderator to update your subscription.

Managing your Biomch-L subscription via a web browser

LISTSERV has a web-based interface which should be self-explanatory. At your first visit, you will be asked to enter your e-mail address and create a password.   If LISTSERV does not recognize your e-mail address, try entering an address that you may have had when you first subscribed.  A confirmation e-mail will be sent to that address.  Once logged in, you can change your e-mail address.

The password will be stored in a cookie (if you want) so on future visits you will be logged in automatically.  Once logged in, you can browse and search the archives, and change your subscription settings online.

If you forget your password, you can click on the "change password" button to request a new password.

Contact a moderator if you experience any problems.
